Talk about ironic!!!

Well yesterday was the end of my flight training and the beginning of my flying career. I officially passed my private pilot check ride with flying colors, after which I was presented with the one piece of paper I had been waiting 23 years for. Needless to say the stress leading up to the whole ordeal left me mentally and physically exhausted. So when i got home I threw my clothes in the washer forgetting all about my nice 6 hour old temp certificate sitting snuggly in the pocket. So this morning I opened up the dryer and found what appeared to be an exploded snow globe inside and yet it still didn't hit me. Not until i picked up a little piece and noticed it said "Fed.. Avia.." did i realize the severity of my own stupidity. So i called my instructor (who laughed uncontrollably) and then the examiner and have another one on its way via PDF file. Just figured i share the story and give ya'll a laugh.

Well look at the bright side, you'll have several reasons not to forget that day!!!! Congrats on the check-ride.

Eh, it happens. At least this one was easily corrected.

Congrats on the rating. Now start studying for that instrument.

Yeah it took me about 2 months to get my first one and then after i surrendered it to my examiner for my instrument rating, took another 2-3 months.

Indeed, now that you have your PPL, the real fun begins (no sarcasm, really). Instrument flying is by far the most fun I have gotten to (currently am in commercial). You feel like a real pilot and more opportunities open up to you.

Have fun and good luck!

I added a type rating to my ATP last summer and hadn't gotten a new ATP since '99 so I had the old paper one...I heard about the new shiny credit cards ones but hadn't seen one til I got one in the mail about 99 days after I applied and got my temp. Guess what, is was some others dudes new PPL. The only thing we had in common were our initials DR, the rest was totally different. I mailed it back (at my expense) and eventually get the right/new one about 6 weeks later. I can only imagine what the other guy thought, he passes his PPL and gets issued an ATP with 4 type ratings, he was probably thinking it was his lucky day!!!

When I got my PPL my dad said "Congradulataions, you have a liscence to learn."
