CFI Training

I just finished mine up today... my biggest problem was making myself set down and study, which proved to be very hard since there is SO much information. But after a while I figured out to just go through the PTS in order and read through both the "Pilots Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge" and "Airplane Flying Handbook" and all went well. (Even though I did fail my initial, I got credit for all but one section, and it was my most ignored section - Navigation)
As far as maneuvers... my first landings were sideways but that was fixed quickly, and steep-turns to the right gave me problems up until I was signed off, just the whole perspective change.
But, Good Luck, it feels great to have done!

Yeah, it's hard to remember that you are the answer book now. You can't give the answers in the form of a question anymore. If you don't know off the top of your head, you need to know where to find it. Other than that, learning to teach a lesson plan is interesting. But as you go along, you don't need them much because you teach the same info mutiple times. Just remember to get the info to the student in a way that they understand.

The book knowledge wasn't all that hard for me, although I am the type of person who can ace a test without studying...
For me, the hardest thing was getting the sight picture on final approach correct. I could fly the thing straight and level just fine, but I was forever landing crooked until I got the sight picture figured out from the right seat...and that isn't something anybody can teach you, you just have to go out and do it.
Good luck!

CFI training starts when you start being a CFI. You'll have the answers to the questions at a commercial level. The FOI tells you how to deal with people as if there are 3 different types of people in the world. In reality, everyone is different, and you need to find what makes each person tick in order to motivate them. You also need to be careful not to teach too much. Shutting up goes a long way in the airplane.
As far as training goes, those lazy eights...
