FAA investigation

Last month my PVT student had a ramp check and FAA inspector in his opinion thought one of my endorsements was wrong. He sent an investigation letter and I spoke with him showed him a letter of approval from Okalahoma City and I guess “in his opinion it is still wrong he don’t like it”. MY QUASTION IS HOW LONG DOES HE HAVE BEFORE HE HAS TO CLOSE THE CASE OR TAKE SOME ACTION? ITS BEEN ALOMOST TWO MONTHS AND NOTHING YET!!!!!!

As long as he wants, although the FAA is supposed to put out or drop the case by six months. If longer than six months, you'll have the stale complaint rule to use in addition to your defense.

Although, you might want to inquire of a safety program manager (white hat fed), FAAST mangers now I think, to see if they can check the case status (PTRS) without kicking the 'sleeping dog'.

Good luck!
