CFI's and Part 121 Op's
Does the FAA require that a Part 121 ground or sim instructor be a CFII?
What about company check airman, or IOE training Captains? Just wondering...... |
No and no.
All you need is an ATP to be an instructor for an air carrier (essentially though you will take a series of evals and checkrides to get signed off.) |
It's an in-house qualification, similar to qualifying as an IP. You will take a ride with a Fed.

My POI Fed wouldn't even renew my instructor certificate and I was a check airman! Now I'm expired!
