Flight Engineer Certification?

Okay, i used our search function and no luck.
I've checked the regs on the FAA website and it lists requirements for flight engineer applicants....however....

Where would one take such a flight engineer checkride?
and
If UPS or FedEx or whomever require an FEX written, does that mean they do FEX ratings or is it just a checkbox requirement for applicants?

thanks guys

FDX/UPS require the FE written to be complete. You do your checkride if/when hired in the simulator.

Airlines that operate 3-man cockpit aircraft may require applicants to have the FE written complete. If your initial assignment is in the 3rd seat, the company will take care of the rating (normally done in the sim.)

It used to be a entry level position, and now with age 65 - it may be again.
