Question Taking The 135 ATP, But Flying 121

Alright...Ive been read and understood this to a point...but now I just want to see if anyone else has taken this route...

If someone goes in and takes the 135 ATP written,
then goes to a 121 operator,
does it affect anything at all when pursuing the ATP through the 121 world?

The 135 vs 121 written is just meant to allow you to pick the regs you are more comfortable with when taking the test. In the end, the written is the ATP written.

so has anyone out there done that? just seems easier to take the 135 version and avoid the 72/73/dc9 chart crap-ola

I did; for the reason you stated. You'll never use those formulas or spaghetti charts anyway.

If you're not familiar with either 135 or 121 regs, then 135 would probably be easier.

If you're preparing for a 121 interview, I'd probably do the 121 version, some of that knowledge will help you on the interview.

Memorize the answers to the big-jet flight planning questions.
