Default Preparations for a career...

hi everyone,

im new here. I recently started flight training at the broward community college in south florida, the flight training is run by the DCA after I get my associates in aviation science there, I plan to go on and get my bachelors in Business. I currently only have 10 hours, I have wanted to fly for a living since I was very young, my grandfather got me interested in flying and I have been hooked every since. I was just wondering if anyone has any tips or advice that I could use for preparing myself for the airlines, while a student pilot, what can I do now to make later better?

thanks!

Sean

Get a job at a local FBO, throwing bags for a regional or major. Get to know people. That could be one of the best things you could do. Experience in the industry and who you know, not what can be a big deal.

Another thing to consider is taking the best route for you, not the fastest. Total time is just part of the big picture. "SJS", also known as shiny jet syndrome has gotten quite a few out there. Worry about the task at hand. For you right now, learn to fly the airplane. You should be soloing soon. Take it one rating at a time and learn as much as you can.

Pitch for airspeed, power for altitude should be your mantra right now. Keep the ball centered, and look down the runway when you're on final. good luck
