you mean Utah state? But coincidently, I think Utah State does have a flight training program. If you're in that area also look into Utah Valley State College..I've flown with a number of their grads and nobody has anything bad to say about them. Reminder: Don't major in any of aviation degrees, unless it's aero engineering. |
Utah Valley State College even has an online aviation program. You can do all of your flying at your local FBO, attend another local university (get a business degree), and get another degree with "Aviation" written on it for doing the same flying you are going to do anyway. CHEAP! I know several regional and major guys who took this route. But, like I was advised by HSLD, I would choose UND if the choice was between ERAU and UND. Both are great quality places and I wish I would have been blessed with enough $$$ to attend either of them. GOOD LUCK on whatever you decide. The place does not define the aviator, only his desire to learn and improve his skills. I hope to see you in the cockpit one day, it seems like you are getting a lot of support from everyone one here, and I believe you are already looking in the right place for the right answers. Smart Kid!

Thank you so much to everyone for the wonderful advice! I will continue to research other options for flight but you have all helped a lot in my decision. I think that I am heavily leaning towards UND right now but I'm not going to comitt this very second. I'm just looking for a reasonably priced, well rounded education where I will come out fully certified with a respectable load of hours, a double major, and a real 4-year university feel. A lot of local pilots (Seattle is where I'm at) keep recommending Big Bend CC to me and it looks great and I'm sure they do well there, I just want to go to a college where I can say I had a college experience. To me a CC does not provide that and embry riddle seems borderline. THANKS AGAIN!

I'd check out CWU in Ellensburg. Closer to home, better weather, cost less, and you'd get the college experience.
Big Bend would not be a bad choice if you could stand living in Moses Lake for two years. |
