Multi rating or multi add on?

OK I have about 165 TT over 100 PIC and over 50 XC already instrument rated. Would it make more sense to fly to 250 TT then get the multi add on or start flying the twin to get more twin time? My plan is to go to the airlines and if I can get an interview I wouldn't need the commercial single for flight instructor. Any advice would be appreciated!

If you have the money to do it, get the multi time, its always the hardest to gain.

If you don't, get the single stuff, your CFI, and save some money or get the school to pay for your MEI.

Multiengine time is a paradox, its expensive, sometimes difficult to gain, but everyone wants it before they'll look at you.

I finished my Instrument and didnt have anything near enough time to get my Commercial at a 61 school .... so I went ahead and got my Multi-Instrument ... I'm glad I didn't wait to do the Multi rating ... plus it will help you transition into the your complex aircraft for your commercial.
