TSTC VS CTC? Which one!!!!!
Hey everyone!!!!
Feels great to be back in the states after two years in Germany. Did some training down there. Extremely expensive plus an hour commute to pay over a hundred bones an hour (The cheapest around). I've got 7 mos. left on active duty. Considering transitioning to NG or reserve to collect a nice bonus to finance what the G.I. Bill won't cover. I'm moving back to Texas. I have recieved information on both Central Texas College and Texas State Technical. Both seem to have outstanding programs for the best value. I was considering Midland College, But they are not VA approved for 141 training. Anyone gone to any of these schools and wish to critique their experiences. Any and all advice would be appreciated.

send a PM to multipilot and he can give you an updated status on TSTC. I went there as well as a few others and it was always a madhouse. They have good equipment but at one point were light on instructors which hit us all pretty hard.

im currently going to tstc. it is a good school. they are short on instructors at the moment, they just hired one last week. it is a very good in the since all the classes are full of good information to go along with your flying. if you are patient and not wanting to go from zero to hero in 6months this this will work for you. they do take the gi bill and hazelwood. i believe this is the only school left in texas that the hazelwood covers flight fees. im using it now myself.

I went there and instructed there and it worked well for me. I really enjoyed my time there and i met alot of really great friends. I have been out of there since 2005 so my info would be out of date. If you choose, TSTC get into the student housing it was CHEAP and we had great parties!! have fun and thanks for the service!!

Toiletduck and Superpilot92,
I was a student there from 2002-2004. Did you instruct instrument CFII? Thats the only rating I got there and was with Ross, Brent, Kelly and a few others. I loved the school and made many many great friends in Waco. Sometimes I wish I could be back there and do it again!

I started at TSTC in Sept. 2001 and i started instructing at TSTC in early 2004, left in early 2005. I instructed everything while at TSTC(cfi, cfii, mei). I was there when all those guys were there and left. I had mark m. and mike c. as my instructors.

Thanks to you all for the info!
Somethings have changed though since this post. Although I haven't committed to either school yet, I haven't completely factored the possibility out. I'm just not sure if the employment that I'm seeking will accommadate me living in Texas at the moment.
