Financing

Has anyone heard of a school not allowing a person to get financed for flight training due to their credit or do they just finance you at a higher finance charge?

Most schools that I know of do not do in-house financing. However, they are more than happy to accept money from loans, grants, VA, GI Bill, credit cards, etc. In my experience, financing is the #1 thing that holds up a student's flight training. Make sure you have the money in place (without going into massive debt) BEFORE you start training. I know you're probably itching to get going ASAP but believe me, you will look back and wish you had taken that advice. It will cost you more in the long run to have to take breaks in your training while you wait on money.

And in my humble opinion, if you are worried about your credit before you even start flight training, I would recommend waiting to get into this career field or steering clear of it all together. Whats your background? Knowing more about your situation will provide you with more accurate and meaningful advice.
