Does anyone know of aviation grants/loans for folks with below average credit?

Check slmfinancial.com (Sallie Mae). The may require a cosigner but they offer pretty good deals on student loans for flying.

Try looking for a school that works with Wachovia or Terri Loans. Miss Sallie (Sallie Mae) will kill you with their interest rate... trust me on this one. Its really good if you can finance your way thru aviation without taking a loan but since it is very difficult this days to come out with 50k then try Wachovia or Terri Loans.
