commercial pilot question

i am scheduled to start flying a private jet for a guy who just happens to have enough money to buy a Hawker 800XP... my question is this.. he is not going to charter the aircraft out at all and therefore no need for a 135 certificate and he doesnt want one, therefore, as the pilot for this aircraft, what are my limits by the FAA as far as getting paid to fly his aircraft under part 91?

It is at his/her discretion. Just make sure you review your Regs on Commercial Pilot Privelages (FAR 61.133). I flew a King Air for a short period for a 91 gig. It was a good time. Have fun bud, be safe...and if you need an SIC...I can get you my resume in about 2 seconds;)

We have beat the topic too death in the commerical checkride thread. Basically we found that, to be safe, just make sure you have a contract of agreement, then simply follow the Part 91 regs, and part 119 might have something to say about your private carriage operation. How'd you score this job? How much time do you have?

heres a good laugh for ya

thru another UConn football alumni is where i got the job. his old company had the patent to Bluetooth technology and sold it for a large sum, so he made a good chunk of change. as for the hours, he is paying for whats left of my training.. i only have 140 hours in the book

140 hours...wow, I suddenly feel so old with my 350.

Wow thats impressive I thought I was low on hours when I got my commercial with 150 but 140 is impressive. I only wish I could find someone to let me fly their jet. Enjoy the experience. Oh also to add, from what I have been told by some DE's. If you are going to be logging that time in the jet you should have some dual time in that plane. They look very skeptically at someone who logs PIC or even SIC in a plane that they have not been instructed in.

flight safety beginning in late march will take care of that no problem... the PIC for this plane is already typed in the aircraft

How can you be a Comm. Pilot with only 150 hours, Part 61 or 141? And do you have your instrument also?

Laxrox43 02-14-2006 06:09 AM

There's no way that UConn can have his Comm. Certificate with 140 hrs. 141 is at least 190, and 61 is 250????? Unless there is a loop-hole that I have never heard of?! Obviously he could potentially have his Pvt/Instrument...but certainly not Comm SE/ME addon at such low time...hmmm

UConnQB14 02-14-2006 07:03 AM

never said i had my comm.. this is the way it is for me right now... i am instrument rated and working on timebuilding FOR my comm... at 200 hours, i will take a comm/CFI combined course and then ill be at flightsafety at the end of march... dont get it confused, i dont have my comm with 140 hours, that would be unreal however...
