Part 61 PPL Training

G'day everyone!

I'm about 3 days away from starting my part 61 private pilot training. I've been searching the forums and I've found that the consensus is part 61 being the pound for pound better deal in most people's cases, so that answers that question.

To get to the point, I'm just curious if there are any useful tidbits that you found in your PPL training that could be imparted to me. I've been pouring over Rod Machado's Private Pilot Handbook, I've got a little stick time, I've just completed a course in fundamentals of air traffic control (as an elective at my university), I flight sim. Yada, yada, yada, I know..haha I'm feeling extremely confident and I've been waiting for this coming Friday for nearly a year (finances and the such). Just ordered my headset too!

Just thought I'd ask if there was anything that jumped to mind!

Thanks,

BaronPete

Just take everything in and try to see the big picture. Doesn't matter how much you study on the ground, doing the real thing is completey different. Just have a blast, keep a positive attitude, and before you know it you'll be on a solo.

I would suggest getting the written exam wrapped up as early in your training as possible. Having an understanding of the info (well at least some of the stuff) will help you as you progress.

Good luck on Friday!
