Lost Test Results...
Have the student log into the FAA airman registry page (if they have not created a login yet they will need to do so) and there is a section on the bottom of the page after havign logged in to retrieve lost FAA written test results.

aaahahaha this same thing happened to me... the day i was supposed to take my ppl checkride, i couldn't find my written anywhere(which i had taken like 3 months prior)....
so I just took it again on the spot, there was no way I was going to miss my checkride. heh. I got a 89% the 2nd time, but not horrible for not having studied in 3 months.
anyway, yeah I think you can get one for like $4 or something weird like that. but i heard it takes forever to get a copy...

I went through something similar for my private pilot. I passed my original test, but it expired, and I accidentally lost the results. I call the FAA at (866) 878-2498, spoke with a lady named Jo. She told me what to e-mail her, I did that and she e-mailed me back within minutes an official letter that the school was able to use for me to retake. Also it was free of charge. She basically wanted my full name, DOB, and home address. For me it was called an expired credit letter.
