Need some G-IV help/info

I will likely be going to G-IV Initial school later on this summer, and wanted to get a start on learning some of the stuff I need to know. (And, just to get this out of the way first: No, I am not PFT'ing!)

I already have the FlightSafety Pilot Training Manual for the G-IV/G300/G400, but was wondering if there was anything else anyone had - or was willing to share - that might be of benefit, such as: Notes/gouge from anyone who had already been through G-IV initial; misc articles of interest; whatever. Any help appreciated. I am basically a helo and King Air guy, and this will be my first jet training experience, so I am a little bit nervous, and want to "pre-study" as much as I can, whatever I can. Respond on-list or via PM as you feel may be appropriate.

Wish I could help you with your study material; but I just had to comment on your good luck with landing a G-IV job without any prior jet experience. Sail under that lucky start did you? Share more about your experience, hours and such and where you came across such a gig. One last thing - what does PFT'ing mean?

No kidding! pretty hard to find any Gulfstream jobs that don't include "Type Rating Required" Curious, was that GIV job up in the SF Bay Area?

MSW,
Are you taking the course with FSI in Savannah?

No, it'll be FSI LGB.

That's right, they moved the G-IV program out of SAV. From going through the GV initial, I can say they run a great program. Two tests--open book general knowledge and closed book limits. Straightforward sim check to ATP standards with no surprises. Took a few notes in class and studied a little each night. Really hit the cardboard/cockpit trainer hard at the end of class/start of sims to not waste sim time learning the interior preflight. That seemed to get us past the first sim hurdle quicker and on to flying. Sorry for the late post. Good luck and have fun.
