Cfi & Cfii Or Not ?
 

Hi all ,

I am new to getting my training to be ATP , but i don't know if CFI & CFII are important to be ATP or these are optional ? also what is the important traing are important to be ATP pilot ?

You don't need to be a CFI in order to get an ATPL.

Can you tell me what do i need exactly to be ATPL ? also how many hours minimum for each level ?

First off, welcome to APC ayseaf glad to have you around.

Now to your post....
What you wrote or how you wrote it or the combination of both does not make alot of sense but I think we can clarify some things here.

-You say you are new to getting your training to be ATP. What I think you mean is that you are training to be an airline transport pilot or that you would like to be an airline pilot in short. Where the confusion was is that ATP is an advanced rating and can not be achieved until you meet many standards to include the big one of 1500 hours total time. Most pilots do not begin training towards an ATP although it is always one of their long term goals.

-A CFI and a CFII are not required to get your ATP rating. Are they important to the rating? That is one of aviations longest argued points and I as well as probably over 3/4 of this board would say a resounding YES. They will make you an exponentially better pilot as well as refine your skills to better help you along your path to aviation greatness. In a perfect world if you were a flight instructor and instructed until you hit ATP minimums (think 1500 flight hours again) you could than take the checkride and would pass it like it was the easiest thing you have ever done because of your proficiency from constant teaching of the basics.

LEVELS AKA RATINGS

private pilot- 40 hours
instrument rating- about 40 more hours
commercial pilot- 250 total hours minimum
airline transport pilot- 1500 total hours minimum

There's some ambiguity on this thread that makes it hard to answer the question...

The terms ATP and ATPL are being used interchangeably, but they are differnt things. Which one are you interested in?
