Atp In Florida

Anybody know about the crj orientation program @ ATP? Is it a good idea? Is it worth the 1,000 dollar price?

don't know much about atp's programs. ATP and many, many more schools are developing these types of programs...and why? Yes, they do attract me too, but think about it... this is how these schools are making there $$ moola. Some transition training programs are set up so that you never even set foot in a real airplane. Its all done in simulator and classroom. Don't take this for fact.. but, these schools are prob making great profits from these programs because they have less overhead of operating real aircraft.

Don't get me wrong simulator time is a great way of learning things safely, however, you get what you pay for. These schools really push these programs and this is why i think why.

I do beleive a program such as the Crj orientation and FMS program would definetly help an individual with an interview, but there are other alternatives than forking out the cash.

You could buy a couple of books about Crj's and FMS systems. Read and outline them. You could do this in less time than atp and under 50 dollars. Heck... you might as well then develop your own FMS training program and start your own business :)

good luck

DO NOT waste your money on anything that does not directly relate to Pvt, IR, COM, ME, CFI/II, MEI.

No airline interview is going to involve RJ systems unless you are currently flying one. They always ask about your current aircraft. An RJ course by itself is very unlikely to get you an interview or a job. And if you attend an interview acting like you know about jets, things will really start to s*ck when they find out that you can't apply your RJ knowledge to real operations (since you've never done them)

An RJ course MIGHT help with new-hire training if you have trouble with systems AND you know far enough in advance what aircraft you will be assigned (unlikely).

Military Vets free CRJ type

If the Pan Am Flight Academy website is accurate they are giving away, thats right giving away, CRJ types to vets. Not sure about the prerequisites on it but if that is the case it would seem prudent to grab it. How would the commercial community perceive that, would it also be met with disfavor? I aint in this game but there seems to be alot of young guys that want in that it could help.
