I'm located in Monterey County

Ok, I got the word yesterday. I have been approved for WIA up to $5000, plus they will reimburse me through a separate set of funds for my airfare and hotel. Training would still be about a month away while the school and the county trade papers.

I like the Gulfsteram idea, is training less than $15000? "fltpln", do you know if your customers from ohio had job offers? we have been told $15k is available but we must present a letter of intent to hire. Thanks.

The two that we have trained from Ohio didn't mention letters of intent as a qualification. Not to say that they didn't have them, I just wasn't involved in conversation regarding employment.

We are working on funding for a couple of people from NJ and NY. Nothing funded yet, but the maze takes some time. We are having much more cooperation from the states since the stimulus package went through.

Twin, I guess I am in the same boat as you. I am in TX as well, but get UI through VA.

Does anybody know if we have to go through the state where we claim, or the state where we live?

Thanks for the info guys.....

Two completely unrelated programs.

Furthermore, WIA does not care where you live. You can apply for WIA funds at ANY program facilitator. ANY.

And here I would have thought/said it would need to be funded through the state you paid into. I'm no expert, just someone that jump through the right hoops here in CA.
