Default ATP, change location?

I'm attending ATP@CRG right now. I'm about half way through. I'm doing my cross country flights now. Is there any way, I can change location to RIC? The only reason I went to CRG is because of the price increase. If I go to RIC, I'll be closer to home. Thank you.

Don't know for sure, but you are the customer who has invested a lot of money. I would tell them how it is going to be, before putting it in the form of a question. You might end up in JAX, ATL or LAS for your CFI's but the rest of the instruction is the same where ever you go.

I did most of my training at BWG, but since i'm self-paced they didn't really care where I was. I just finished up my CFII. Everytime i've talked to dispatch I just tell them that "Hey is it ok if I come down to FTY this week and do some X-C time?" I thought I read somewhere that if you change locations that they will charge you like $2000, but I never really got that impression since I bounced around to GKY, FTY, BWG, CRG to do X-c time and whatnot. If you ask Mike or Marty nicely, they will probably be ok. Don't take my word for it though. I don't blame you for wanting to get out of CRG, I was there for CFI school and I pretty much wanted to shoot myself in the head haha. By the way, say hi to Dave Schiffman for me.

he was just there like a month ago teaching CFI school. he said that he quit ASA because ATP was paying him more money to come back, and he was already at ASA for like 2 years and his upgrade wasn't for like another 2 years or something.

When I instructed in PHX we had students in the Private program change locations for the career program frequently. I only knew of one student who changed locations mid-program. He went to RIC from PHX either right before or right after XC time building. Call Admin and talk to Jim, he's usually pretty helpful.
