Business Unit: DAE Flight Academy Job Family: Flight Academy Location: Ras Al Khaimah Closing Date: 02-Feb-2009 Position Profile:
Flight Crew Training Instructors (FCTI) will provide quality training to customers using a scenario based GCAA approved curricula in DAEFA’s fleet of Cirrus SR22 single engine aircraft. Qualified FCTI’s will be expected to upgrade into DAEFA’s fleet of Eclipse Very Light Jet (VLJ) aircraft when available (3rd quarter of 2008).
The package for this position includes (compensation paid in United Arab Emirates Dirhams): company provided medical coverage for employee, spouse, and family, a 50,000.00 AED (9,689.92 EUR) relocation payment, annual 30 calendar days paid vacation, annual economy air tickets for employee, spouse and dependents, and an end-of-service payment per UAE labor law.

Dubai Aerospace Flight Academy (DAFA), a creation of Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (dubaiaerospace.com), offers an innovative ab-initio flight training program that focuses on aeronautical decision making and superior technical skills. DAFA’s curriculum culminates in a frozen ATPL that will be delivered via the Cirrus SR22, Eclipse 500 VLJ, AATD’s and Level-6 FTD’s. Our academy prides itself in leading the industry with the use of cutting-edge technology and a unique curriculum to deliver training that is unsurpassed. Ideally located at the intersection of three continents, Dubai, UAE, is the fastest-growing city in the world and a booming aerospace market. DAFA is located in Ras Al Khaimah, approximately one hour from Dubai.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Delivery of professional training for GCAA certification programs for an integrated
  • ATPL program
  • Conduct instructor/evaluator initial, recurrent, or proficiency flight and ground training as required
  • Utilizing state of the art technically advanced aircraft and devices to conduct training that focuses on aeronautical decision making
  • Teaming with peer instructors tasked with special assignments
  • Other duties as required
Education and Qualifications:
  • Applicants must be Certified Flight Instructors with Instrument Privileges from an
  • ICAO member country
  • 1000 hours PIC in aeroplanes
  • 200 hours Multi-Engine aeroplane time & Multiengine Instructor rating
  • Supervised 25 solo flights
  • 500 hours dual given as a licensed flight instructor
  • Valid Passport
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Essential
  • Ability and willingness to convert credentials to GCAA licenses if not already certified in the UAE (DAEFA will train successful candidates and pay for testing)
  • Proven ability to use relevant experiences and instructional skills in a highly challenging, highly structured learning environment.
  • Evidence of completed or ongoing study in a higher education setting
  • Proven ability to be flexible and to think ‘outside of the box’
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
Desirable
  • Valid ICAO ATPL
  • A Bachelors degree in a relevant area
  • Turbine experience
  • Garmin 430 experience
  • Avidyne Entegra experience
  • Cirrus Standardized Instructor qualifications
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, scenario-based training philosophies and techniques
