WMU does not have a skydiving club. I can see the chiefs at the school falling out of their seats over that one. <robot voice> "Safety, safety. Deemed not safe." </robot voice>.

But WMU has a terrific flight team, 31 or so Cirrus SR-20's and 22's, a piper supercub on floats, senecas and seminoles, a few new FTD's (280 degrees of view), and a remarkable safety record (for good reason) with NO fatalities, ever.
WMU College of Aviation

I moved there from Florida and did four years to earn a BS in AFS. Just need a thicker jacket in the winter. :)

WMU is at the top of my favorite list.
I grew up in Germany and 3 years in Chicago, now I live in the Mojave dessert. That's one of the reasons I don't really want to go to any of the ones in Florida. I grew up with snow and rain and I can't stand all the sun there is here.

But a skydiving club sounds fun. In the colleges that do have a skydiving club, do you have to pay extra to join or is it all free?

I second that..I checked them out and was not impressed. One of those "cheapo FBO" schools.

WMU does not have the skydive club that you want (as said above), but there IS a Drop Zone about 40 mins away. If you have your USPA license it's $20 a jump to 10k agl. Student jumps a $60 a jump to get your certificate. I would recommend WMU, but things have changed a lot since I went there when they had Cessna's so I can't say a whole lot about their new curriculum.
