different degree?
Do I need to have 4 year degree specifically in Professional Pilot fo future major airline pilot hiring, or can I have 4 year degree in, lets say, aerospace engineering, and still get hired (as long as I have required amount of flight time, and ratings)

You don't need an aviation degree to get hired with an airline. I have a buddy who is a lawyer and is flying w/ ExpressJet now. Law is waaaay on the other side of the spectrum as far as education goes. Just as long as you are educated. I would suggest AT LEAST getting your 4 year degree.

The "aviation" degrees are largely useless in the real world, except for actual engineering degrees. Get something that will allow you to earn a living in case aviation doesn't work out. You can also assume that you will get a 2-3+ "vacation" from aviation at some point due to layoff or medical problems.
For the most part, airlines don't care what your degree was in at all, however a challenging degree like science/engineering or a masters will make you somewhat more competetive at the major airlines.
