Horizon??s
Hi guys
I am a just starting to CFI at an institution is the Great Lakes Region and am looking to move out to the Northwest, i.e. Oregon. This has naturally leaded me to look into Horizon Airlines. I have hear a lot of good things about Horizon. I am looking more for a job that provides a good QOL over just trying to get to a major as fast as I can. Any suggestions on what would make me more competitive for a job at horizon would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |
There is no QOL at Horizon.

Thanks For example if you were to ask them whether they preferred you to work as a CFI in the northwest, or work as a bush pilot in Alaska - they'd say do the CFI gig. They've lowered their minimums from 1000/100 to 750/50 so that they can take a look at applicants with less time. They probably will hire more off the street with over 1000/100 but they don't want to miss out on great candidates who have a little under 1000/100. One more suggestion, if you were willing to relocate, it may help if you worked as a flight instructor somewhere in the Northwest. There are also a couple 135 cargo companies near Seattle that do the single pilot IFR stuff which you may be interested in doing. Best of luck |
Just noticed that this thread was started quite a while ago, on the 3rd page, I made a comment and at the time was working on my flight instructor certificate. :)
