Flight Schools in Raleigh
 

I am wondering if anyone knows a good flight instructor (part 61), or a certified Part 141 flight school (other than ATP) at RDU or a surrounding airport near Raleigh, NC?

Also, if anyone knows just an instructor, where can you rent airplanes?

Drive over to Burlington Aviation instead. Cessna Pilot Center, glass, very well maintained and exceptionally clean a/c, non-towered field so you don't waste money taxiing to a distant runway. You can fly a complete IPC in a 1 1/2 hours without leaving the area. I've used CFI Mark Reed.

Try Flightgest in the TAC AIR building - nice place with 4 newer 172's

I did some of my initial Training at Flight Gest... Well... I did some training there when the flight school was still part of southern jet, wich somewhere along the line begame Flight Gest, the first instructor I ever had there was brilliant. The place has gone severely down hill since then. The instruction I got after the first instructor left was marginal at best, of course I didn't realize this at the time, but looking back at it now, I spent a lot of time and money there I could have saved myself. I have gone back several times over the years to rent, since I now live out of town and thats the only place I knew. I have been more disappointed each time I go. My recommendation... go somewhere else. TTA (Sanford-Lee) is a little out of the way but an excellent GA airport to learn to fly at.
