Canadian Flight Training
I have made the decision to attend the Moncton Flight College in New Brunswick. Here is the link to the $40,000 CAD program i have chosen
http://www.mfc.nb.ca/icpc.aspx?id=13
It is a 12 month program, most students finish in 10 months
I believe canadian flight training is good because we are exposed to worse weather, de-icing conditions....etc.
I have read almost all of the posts from pilots giving their recomendations, and oppinions, however i would like some oppinions about my preparation up to this point in my life (iam 23yrs old) and on what i have planned for the future.
I have a 4-year university degree in human resourses/management. I have been the asst. manager at the local airport ramp operation where i live for the past 2 yrs. We service Westjet and AC Jazz.
The moncton program gets me a commercial licence in the end with 200 TT. After that i will be hired as an instructor. They have some large china student contract so they said i will be able to fly my brains out.
My 1st goal is to instruct up to enough hours to get my ATPL. Which in canada i only need 1500 hours to get that. The school says most instructors reach that point in 18 months if their dedicated.
Once i reach this level i hope to be hired by such airlines as Bearskin, Calm Air, Provincial Airlines....etc, small regional airlines so i can build my dual turbine time.
I figure by this time i should be around 26 yrs old. If i put in 4 years with a regional carrier i should be set to be hired by Air Canada, (Not Jazz).
The way I look at it, as long as im in with Air Canada by age 30, i can put in a solid 30-35 years with the company.
So, i would really like oppinions/comments/suggestions to my plan.
Thanks
