This is the reason why I don't like posting on Forums... it turns into an extensive "you're wrong, I'm right" fight. Granted the school is expensive but neither you nor I can properly prove that the value you get after you graduate is worth the risk. I took the risk and obviously you know my side granted the screen name but for someone else it might not prove to be cost efficient. I do not regret going to the school, I hope to get far with the training I received... and NO I do not think I'm the best damn pilot out there, though some here sure think that of themselves. So take my comments as you wish for I AM SPARTACUS! :)

I have worked in the 121 training environment, and I am not impressed with the ERAU kids...they are friggen morons that think everything should be handed to them...

You know its very hard to come across as a nice guy in a forum that is BASHING the school that you went to. So please save it!

You're not the only pilot out there who majored in flying, my friend. Unlike you, however, I've learned that it's pointless to get ****ed off at people who disagree with my choice to get a degree in aviation. I'm comfortable with the choice I made, and I'm not going to change the minds of people who did differently. The only thing that fighting about it will accomplish is to **** off the people who may one day make the deciding vote when you're up for hiring consideration.

Pointless Aviation degree? I bet if you ask any Airport manager of a major airport what they majored in , they will tell you an aviation related subject. Did you know the Airport Manager of ATL makes $245K a year. Thats not pointless to me

This is just an observation that I made. I know there are good Riddle guys out there, because I have friends that went there...One is a Lear Captain...and a really good stick at that...

But so far...not impressed with the *NEW* Riddle guys...(most recent grads)

Let me just say this. About 5 years ago in high school, I was really attracted to Embry-Riddle. Somehow I got in touch with them and they kept mailing me for some time. The more research I did, the more I got away from it. Now I am completely out of it. Why go to Embry-Riddle when you can get a degree outside of aviation and do your ratings at a local FBO at the same time and save some serious money? I know atleast 2 people who will be going to Embry-Riddle in the near future. The reason? They are both loaded and their daddies won't mind and they want what's best for them. Lack of research. Of course if you are loaded what's the difference?
