Smile Passed my CMEL checkride

Today was my commercial multi check ride. I already done the oral last week, but had to cancel due to the weather/gusts. Flight plan was from KFDK (Fredrick, MD) - KLNS (Lancaster, PA). We took off from FDK toward LNS in a PA-44 Piper Seminole, flew over my first check point. We did the maneuvers there, and did a full feather shutdown over FDK. Did a go-around, then a simulated single engine landing. Time to start working on commercial single.

Congratulations. I really enjoy the twin, but the SE CAX maneuvers are actually more fun. Chandelles, lazy eights, eights on pylons, steep spirals, power off 180s... I just got back from doing those with a guy adding his single to his CAX ME ticket. Good luck, and congrats.

Out of curiosity, did you do the two instrument approaches (both and single engine) or does your MEL limit you to VFR only?

The current PTS only requires only the single-engine instrument approach. Area of Operation X task D.

Congrats!

I just started working on my commercial single. Is there a reason you did your multi first? I thought about doing the multi first but was told that it would cost more in the end and that starting in the 172rg would make for a better transition.

I did my multi first because it's been a while since I flew single engine planes, and I wanted to take advantage of "fresh" experience.
