Default Would it be worth it??

Ok, I'm looking ahead, and I plan on definately going the instructor route, it seems the expierence from doing so is really worth it, but I was wondering what route you guys think would be more beneficial.

There is the teach at the FBO for low pay, but get lots of hours, fly some different planes, meet lots of different people in all different fields.

Then there is teach at an aviation college, where you get benefits (not great, but better than nothing), not a ton of hours (from what I hear from the people working there), and you could get a masters for little or no money, since you are an employee of the college. With less pay, since its less hours, abut you get free upgrades to CFII and MEI (not sure if most FBOs pay for those upgrades).

So would it be worth taking the extra time going the college instructing route, or would the FBO be the better choice for the extra hours at a faster rate???

I thought it would be better going the college instructing route, but people I have talked to say it is better to get all those hours from FBO instructing, because it would be less time overall instructing.

So I was wondering what you guys think.

I'm enjoying it.

I think I have a pretty good situation. Mostly new equipment, and what isn't new is very well maintained. Pay is OK, it takes care of the bills and when the weather is good and I fly a lot there is some left over too. I think a lot of it has to do with your attitude going into it, and knowing what you're getting yourself into.

Another big thing is that you know it's just a temporary stop, but you give it your all while you're there. I think my employers treat us well becuase of this. I don't think it's much to ask, and if you're positive about it it's a win/win situation.

I'm teaching at an independent flight school, logging much more time than my roomate who is at a university. He, however has the upper regarding salary, his is fixed, I only get paid when working (when busy I make a lot more but it got a little lean for me last month because of weather). Also has health insurance which is taking an extra 100 bucks away from me becuase I have independent coverage. He'll also build multi time faster but I'll have no problem getting that golden 100 multi by the time I hit 1000 total.
