Just keep studying the material. I first day test is directly off the question bank, no eps, no limits (they will come later). It really helps to listen to the cds over and over again, at home with the panels and in the car. I know it is maddening, but will pay off. You will work hard there, but have a great time!

Good Luck!

I wish K&S had CDs instead of the internet. It takes forever to load, and I have to have the internet available to study. I think no matter who you go with for the type studying on your own can be frustrating.

Don't get me wrong, I think their online course is well structured, and informative. I have also heard that you don't know if you will be using the EFIS or non EFIS sim at higher power until you are in class. I might be wrong there... If they send CDs how do they track how much studying you do prior to showing up?

We get a packet that says KNOW THIS and KNOW THAT. Test on first day. I'll let you know the rest as I'm off to DFW Sunday.

Question to anyone that's been through this class recently. Are the questions on the test the first day still taken directly from the Home Study Test Bank? Is it multiple choice just like it is on the Home Study Test Bank?

Also, how much of an understanding do you need to have of the systems before getting to class? I'm coming from a 121 regional with 8+ years in the CRJ-200. I don't expect to be spoon fed every single thing, but do they teach you everything you need to know in class? Or are you expected to know a certain amount before getting there?

Thanks for your help!

Just went through the NG type rating a couple weeks ago. The NG type doesn't have a test on day one, but home studying still helped.
They do give you all of the info to pass the course. I came from an all single seat background, and no FMC knowledge, and I didn't have too much trouble. You are obviously familiar with crew co-ordination etc, so it will just be learning the new systems, and that is based on how quickly you can pick it up.
HPA is a great group of people, and they are in the business of getting you through.
