Any Current Students/Info at Prairie Air Service?
Hello I am currently attending FSA in Vero (still pre-solo) and was wondering if anybody had some current info on Prairie Air Service? I am beginning to doubt my ability to finish my training here on budget and on time. I am also generally starting to doubt the high premium for the training here is really worth it and wondering if I made a mistake rather then going through the small FBO route. Relocating is not a problem for me and am willing go wherever my training might take me.
Going through the posts I have heard some good things about Prairie Air Service and would like to find out more information about it. I have already spoken to Herb over the phone and he seemed like a very straight forward guy and he sent me his updated pricing and information but I was wondering if I could hear anything from someone that has attended his program recently or has finished their ratings over there in Prairie Air. Thank you.

Can you tell me a little about the training? I plan on going there with my PPL hopefully around late Jan early Feb. To get my multi, IFR, Commercial. I was wondering what the weather was like and if it would effect my training during the winter. Did you get to fly often when you were there? I know he only has a few planes but also he only takes a few students at a time. I read somewhere that another student was worried about the age of the apache and I was wondering how good the maintenance was on his planes.
Other than that I wonder if you could tell me about your daily life there lots of waiting around to fly? or Always studying/flying? How was the training overall does it prepare you well enough if you plan on a career in aviation? Do they pay attention to you and try to help if you have problems understanding some concepts/doing some maneuvers or do they let you figure it out by yourself? How long do you think it will take the average student to get his multi, IFR and commercial there?
Sorry for all the questions. Thanks in advance for any info you can give.

I think you should give him a call. Herb told me he is often flying and doesn't have much time to check his emails. He did send me a updated price list after I spoke to him on the phone.
