Default All Atps - All Over Priced?

Serious question?

How can they still be charging so much($60,000), when fuel is cheaper now than it was when they were charging $35,000 for their fast-track program?

Not only are they charging double, but I keep hearing from friends who still work there, the quality of instruction, and organization of their programs has continued to slide down hill.

Did you do any research? There are at least two threads in the past couple months that cover this very topic. In sum:

Oil prices don't = lower gas prices
100LL is still very expensive and most FBOs are still trying to pay for the gas they bought six months ago.
Insurance and mx costs have gone up quite a bit

In addition to their operating cost their price is highly driven by supply and demand. When airlines were hiring anyone (and I mean ANYONE) there was no shortage of people who literally could not WAIT to get that loan approval and start their road towards the RJ. Now that things are changing and you cant get a loan it is no longer looking so appealing hence why atp is laying off instructors.

In their prime there was a waiting list to even train there.

I saw in an advertisment that they are claiming 190 hours multi now. Used to be 150 or something. I'm just saying...

I think that includes 'sim' time which is worthless for resume purposes as a low time pilot.
