NPA bashers

Well, I thought I had made my decision to attend the Lakeland site till obviously GOD got me on this site. Well, to say I am now disappointed is an understatement. Is there anyone here who has anything good to say about the Lakeland school? I am looking at Accelerated due to the fact I need to loan the school costs and would need to work(CFI) as soon as possible. I will be moving to the Orlando area and need something in that area. Yes, I have seen ATP in Daytona, but thats a heck of a drive everyday, Orlando Flight training but they are not accredited and can only get a SALLIE MAE there. ( heard that hurts ). I would like to "bang out" school as quickly as possible. My dad owned Key Largo Air Service out of Homestead, Fl, and I was raised in a Navaho so I am confident I could finish in the short time. I am all for a Part 61 but I don't think I can get a loan except for 141. Is this right? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

KeyLargoAir, don't make all of your decisions based on the feedback of a couple disgruntled students. I have been through the NPA program, currently a CFI and must say I received all I signed up for, the experience is what you make of it. In far less than a year I had my CFI certificate and was teaching. I know some of the guys posting on this forum, and their history. The lead individual was a risky pilot who was kicked out of NPA because he was a risk to himself and others, taking a cessna 172 above 18k feet, propstriking and wrecking a plane, and selling time in the school aircraft when he wasn't even a commercial pilot, let alone part of a 135 operation. Give NPA the oppertunity to help you achieve your dream for a reasionable price. I finished the program for about $200 over my contracted price, cause I had to re take my CFI checkride. NPA has 141 and part 61 programs, just depends on which location you go to. I was fully financed for the part 61 program. I had a friend attend flight school in Tulsa, he still does not have his CFI and it has been over 4 years. I have never been to ATP, but several of their students switched to NPA and told me of some bad experiences, but I take that with a grain of salt, and so should you about any negative feedback you get on NPA.

Dear warbird1604

NPA (National Pilot Academy) was a school. I say that because word on the street has it that they are now closed; shut down by the Utah Attorney General for operating a business illegally and for misappropriation of funds; the owners have been indicted by the state and were apparently told by the state to cease and desist way back in October 2008.

I estimate over 1/4 Million dollars in total just at the Tucson location that NPA owes students they mislead to get into the program and then dashed the student's hopes by not providing a program that resided even within the same universe as people (probably like warbird1604) lied and lied and lied to get the students to cash in on. Shame on YOU warbird1604 !!!!!

As far as the "Lead Individual" warbird1604 speaks of: Maybe warbird1604 do some real research before laying false accusations out with the legal ramifications like those he states as fact. Remember, statements made in print remain, and this whole situation has become a pretty stagnant hotbed for some nice fraud and gross negligence lawsuits.

Believe me, there most certainly is a GOD, and he came through when NPA got shut down.

Good riddance to the schemes of Cole Faddis and Jared Faddis of Cedar City, Utah.

Yes, they're his kids.

Back when the school started up I remember hearing how all the students that finished the program would be hired by Skywest.. I don't know if they still feed this to the students. I could write a book on how awful of a business this place is/was. Steer Clear

I always wondered what Skywest would say to David Faddis if they knew just how much the school pumped up how he was their "inside connection" and pretty much assured the student's for hire. It was the same story from every location manager regarding his involvement in the hiring process, too.

By the way, please write that book. Would love to hear more horror stories about National Pilot Academy.

Did these guys actually go under? I just saw an ad on the top and bottom of this page advertising about some scholarship? lol god what a joke. Off the top of my head I personally know of 9 people that the school owes money too because they didn't finish their training, including some that didn't make it past private. Will they ever get their money back? doesn't look promising. .......Maybe I'll write that book

I'm asking for a signed copy of that book.:D

I've only heard from several x-employees, and from other students as well as other message boards, but from what I gather YES. Word has it they are shut down... and good riddance. I think they are already trying to start another business called Pro Air Flight Instruction. I noted some minutes from the Cedar City Airport minutes listing Cole Faddis and Jared Faddis requesting an FBO license from the airport authority.

Some people never learn, eh? I have two words for them as far as career path... Burger King.

sdfcvoh, sounds to me like you need to do some research before telling the whole world what you "heard" from other people. Spreading rumors are childish. I am a future commercial pilot working towards an aviation degree and then going to get into flight schools. NPA and ATP are my top 2 choices and Im glad I heard this stuff so I can go look into NPA, but dont go around acting like you "know" stuff from what you heard from a friend of a friend.
