Regional Jet Orientation Course
 

Hello Everyone,
Can you tell me what does the Regional Jet Orientation Program involves? Also after completing this program, are you qualify to fly Regional Jets? Thanks in advance for your response.

orientation course, normally are spend learning the a/c, systems,...procedures, 121 ops, plus around 20 hrs on left and right seat of sim time. will it help? IDK

Don't just take one word for it. Do some more research. Anyone and their dog can post a yay/nay opinion. Get some back up for it. Why do they say yay/nay?

It could be the economy sucks right now and no regional jet carrier in the US is hiring, thus the time is essentially worthless if the goal is to be working as an airline pilot immediately after completing the course.

But, you could be from another country where if you are able to do the certification, you have a career available immediately after graduation.

Those courses are less detailed than what is covered as a new hire at an RJ carrier upon reaching ground school.... worthless waste of money especially at a time when you stand zero chance of being hired at a respectable airline.

Don't take my posts as being overly negative toward the industry as I landed a great flying job that people are now lining up for - I am just trying to tell you that I have CA and FO friends alike calling me to say that life is not as good as it was when I was flying the 121 side.

Go CFI and fly Skdivers for fun - while holding down a good job in some cubicle farm until or if there is a recovery. Strike when the getting is good, but for now I honestly say stay away and don't take lower pay than you can afford to live on. JOIN THE MILITARY OR AIR GUARD for decent flying jobs and good resume filler, career longevity.

Don't take my word for it - Captain Sully said "nobody I know would recommend this career to their own family members or friends."

I'm honestly just trying to help - don't pay for this course, as your competition can't even get a jet job at the moment.

I am an Airline Furloughed pilot, take my word I have done it all.
Stay away, and wait to 2010. When its time go and rent a Frasca sim for $30hr
and do approaches, ILS, NDB. Work on your scan until its time. Then back to business when regional's open up. So the first singe of hiring you are going to see is. All high time pilot will leave and go to majors or overseas. So now the regional will have to take in pilot whit 250 hr.This is the name of the game buddy. And please don't go and fly a GA airplane because it will not do you any help. Live in the sim. And try to buy the CRJ Study Guide. Start knowing systems like, Ice and Rain,Pneumatics,Air conditioning,Pressurization,Hydraulics,FMS,APU,Ele ctrical. All of this could you learn by your self if you are a good pilot, and I am from Norway so english was not my mother language and I did it. Let me know if you need any help. And wait tell the doors open.

What do flying around the block at 9000 feet give you.
When you have pilots in Europe and Japan that flyes 744 after 250 hr.
Wait Wait to 2010 I will see
