things a CFI can and can't do????

Hi everyone!
Before I ask my brightest ideas here; I must mention I have no clue about aviation (FAA FARs) laws nor ways of doing things the costumary way, so please don't be surprise nor offended by my ignorance, but realize I'm interested in learning the ropes of this beautiful carreer:
So I want to be a pilot (ATP) so I can get off the ground tons and tons of pounds off the surface of this earth with the grace and style that a big airframe (boeing, airbus, etc) would allow me to; and so I have to start with my ratings, PVT being the first I believe, I was planning to offer a CFI a set amount of money for 50 to 60 hrs so I could obtain my PVT and hoping to do the same "strategy" for GND school and so on and so forth(plane rental costs and whatnot) but I m pretty sure; that would be kind of getting away with murder kind of thing; because there is have to be a law against a CFI teaching on a rental is it not???
so my question is (hope there is someone out there that not only that knows but its willingly to answer me this)can I be instructed on a rental from the local FBO or Airport by any CFI ???? I am aware that a/c that are being use to instruct need a 100hr inspection plus the anual therefore there might be an clause that a rental might not want a CFI rentting to instruct because that a/c would need to be on a 100hr insp....
thank you

Sure if the FBO is willing to let any instructor teach in one of their airplanes. Some allow independents to teach in their airplanes; most don't or have some restrictions on who they will allow to teach.

There are many very good instructors that you absolutely will not get along with. The only way to find this out is to fly with them. If you do not get along, or you don't seem to be learning, change instructors.

Many FBOs offer "block hour" rates, that is, you pay in advance for ten hours or so, and get a discount.

now thats an interesting issue you make me realize little did i know that i actually would be better off by flying with them to realize wheather or not i was going to match, with my instructor; in my "lala world" I was thinking prior to start flying as i talked to the CFI i was going to be able to tell if go or not go, to start learning with the CFI after all who wants to change CFI at any phase of the rating??? would be great to ask prior students from the CFI but then again everyone its different whats good to me its bad for others

Holy run-on Batman! Is it hurting anybody else's brain trying to read this post?

Alma...please take a moment to gather your thoughts and organize them in a readable manner. I can barely understand what you are trying to say let alone give an intelligent response.

I was pretty sure you were an ESL and just to be clear I was just trying to give you advice about proofreading the posts not trying to slam ya. Some people become grammar nazis on here and a thread gets lost in who can spell/write more intelligently.

Anyways, somebody mentioned making sure you find an instructor that you can have a good working relationship with. The guy you can go to the bar with and be best friends with may not always be the best instructor for you. Likewise the guy continually insulting you and making you feel like a horrible student isn't gonna work either. If you don't have a relationship condusive to learning it will cause your training to take longer and cost more $$$. None of which anybody wants.

As an instructor I try to adjust my approach each student. My style for one student maybe completely different to the style for another student. If you think it may work and mid-course realize something isn't working out don't be afraid to change instructors or talk to him (he may not realize what he/she is doing). If they are a true professional they won't be upset and if they get ticked, well that only confirms that you made the correct decision to leave that instructor.

How's that for a non-insulting useful post:D

I think what you are trying to say is that you want to find an independent instructor and set a fixed price with him, and then rent an aircraft from an FBO to do your training in with that CFI.

While there may be an FBO that would allow it, most will probably not. First reason would be insurance. You are not a pilot, so you can't rent a plane, so you would have to ask this instructor to rent the plane for you. Then the instructor would have to assume any liability personally if you bent or broke the plane while being taught. I don't think either party would be comfortable with that.

Also, if the FBO employs their own CFI, they would be taking business away from him/her in the process.

You may find an independant CFI who will work with you privately on ground school at a more resonable rate. I have done this for a few students who needed extra help.

Good luck with your training

voila thank you very very much.
and glad to know, and for those wondering what I'm tring to do is:
pay the CFI so he/she gets all my money(not a school, I have nothing personal against them) not the middle man.
As far as people that read these forums, in particularly this reply and you come from the staff'school, that wants to point out the greater benefit to go that way I am more than happy to learn why.
that would help me to make my desicion a more educated one.
