Time Building to CPL, multi or not?
 

I've got my instrument checkride coming up in the next week or two, and am now trying to decide between building my time locally, or doing a multi-time building deal somewhere.

Any thoughts one way or the other? Looks like the cost is basically the same with the price increases at most places - local FBO may be a bit higher - but, of course, it's multi time vs. single time. I guess a little about me: ultimately I want to get my CFI, instruct, and then go from there -would love to fly corporate...even freight dog...maybe / maybe not fly for the airlines.

In most cases it will be to your benefit to do as much of your initial training in a twin as possible...it means that much less twin time you might have to buy down the road to qualify for a job.

Just compare costs and be sure you are not getting overcharged for th twin.

If you only have your PPL IA SEL...get your Multi PPL IA. That way, you can log ME PIC...key for getting your Commercial PIC requirements...

Multi Engine - cheapest I have found
 

You will have to get your multi engine rating first but after you have that you can take a couple weeks and fly with these people. It is only $60 an hour for 50 hour block. She told me that they schedule you for two weeks to give you a couple extra days in case of inclement weather. If you have time to go down to TX I think it would be a great way to get some cheap extra hours. I have not found single engine planes for that.

No, I didn't. I am going to try to get hired on to AirNet because they pay you to do your time building. In turn you agree to work for them for a year after your time building.
If I do not get that job I will probably sign up with the multi engine place. I gave them a call and it seemed to be a good place. Plus you cannot beat $60/hr.

Update: www.multiengine.net is no longer a good website. My friend said he found out it was a bad company. I am not sure what happened but now when you check out the website you get a lot of ads. Very strange.
