What would you do?

I recently joined the Air National Guard, but unfortunately hurt my shoulder during basic training, and was sent home/discharged.

Because of basic training, and tech. school, I had already planned to miss next semester of college, to do BMT, and Tech. school. Now that I am home, I have the option of going back to school next semester. But, I am considering something, and want some advice from you all.

I have my PPL. I was thinking that since I had planned to be missing next semester anyway, it might be a good time to keep that time off, and finish my ratings, then go back to school the following semester. That way I can do some flight instructing, while finishing college, and build some time. It would also help in that I want be trying to mix studying and earning my ratings, while also trying to study, etc., for college.

Does this sound like a good plan? Again, I would be missing next semester anyway, if it weren't for the shoulder injury. Also, I was thinking of looking into some flight academy. Are there any that you all recommend, or should I just do it all local FBO?

I appreciate any advice.

Attend ATP (www.allatps.com) you have all the ratings you will ever need and can start building time in SE / ME right away while you finish school.

Thanks for going into the military. I'm on active duty now. Sorry it didn't work out for you. You'll do well in life just keep looking ahead and working hard.

I've heard some horror stories about ATP from folks that I know... two of them went to American Flyers in CLE and thought the program there was top notch and 110% better than ATP. I'd suggest that.
