If you go to one of the ground renewal courses, you are required to spend 16 hours there, so, what's up with that? I understand that almost everyone wants to do the airline thing, been there, done that myself. I guess I just get miffed when I see 200-300 hour "wonders", after flight instructing for a year or two, seem to have, or think they have all the answers. Rant over, I'm done.
How nice of you to turn an FIRC topic into a pecker measuring contest. Well sonny, this 300 hr wonder is now on his sixth renewal, holds an ATP with four types, is a former CAE Learjet program instructor, has FL510 wings, and is a current 91K (the big one) globe trotter. But keep making assumptions. You're not the only one here with a little experience.

Boy "sonny", am I glad you got all that out there. You missed the whole point. I don't have to tout my experience like this. After TWENTY renewals, I don't need to. My whole point was as to why some of these courses let you breeze through them in no time. I was under the assumption that they all were required to have the same amount of "online" time to complete the course. I guess I was p***** off that I had to put in the extra time to complete. With the attitude shown above, that's just what I am talking about. You go fella!

I've used the American Flyers online course for the past three renewals. I just logged-in to get started on renewal number four and completed the first section.

Is the format no longer time-based? I seem to recall in the past you had to be logged in for a predetermined amount of time in each section before you could take the test. Based on what I saw in section one, that no longer appears to be the case.

Any recent experiences renewing with American Flyers?
For those who care, American Flyers has gone back to a timed format.

The quiz for each section cannot be accessed until a predetermined time has elapsed.
