False, I know cuz i do work here. As for the quality of instruction. Your not gunna find guys that can actually teach this stuff till they get good experience teaching it(200hr guys). all the guys at my loc. have 1200+ n been here 2+yrs. |

If some hardcase starts busting everyone in sight (for any reason, including to score extra $$ on retests), he will be pushed off to the side fairly quickly. It is probably better that they are familiar with ATP and their methods, so the DPE knows what he or she is dealing with.
I am not sure how ATP's student loads are nowadays. Perhaps being affiliated with ATP is not as lucrative as it used to be, with student loans drying up... False statment again. Case and point, Dave Vageness (don't know if I spelt that right though). Almost all of his first time IR students bust on their first go around. I know of one student that went through the IR with him 4 times (he studied very well, oral was great but always got nervous on the flying, and got behind the plane). |

The only thing they require of their DPE's, is to be familiar with ATP's SOP's. And then they sign a contract that they will adhear to them or they won't be asked back. If you call that hand picked, then I guess I am wrong. But I call it something different. |

Ive been here for over two yrs. and have gone through so many DPE's cuz they will not get on their knees for the Grand Master. you really think a DPE will admit being told what to do by a flight school!? ive gotten to know a lot of DPE's being a cfi. and all of them have a few short words to say about certain individuals in JAX. not to mention ive also seen e-mails sent out by jax to examiners pretty much telling them how things need to be done. there is no “please follow our SOP’s” its, this is how its going to be done and when. no questions asked. |

And how do you know this. Did you go to ATP. Because I did. And I made it all the way through with out ever busting a checkride. I also have a stellar pass rate on my students (need one more for the coveted gold seal, which will make 100% pass rate), and no, I don't work for ATP. Just like at any other school, there are always going to be bad apples. I was lucky enough to have none. It's the perfect program for someone who doesn't need or want the information spoon fed.
As others have said, having the ATP zero to hero program on your resume doesn't mean much when looking for other jobs in aviation. Some of their other programs, such as the ATP certificate course, are fine and get the job done. |
