Newest Unemployed pilot

Yesterday I joined the ranks of all the other unemployed pilots outhere by passing my CFI ride. I have to get my resume updated and dropped off at some of the schools nearby. Guess it's safe to say that I'm on my way to a career as a pilot. Thanks for all the advice I recieved from everyone.

Congrats! hey don't forget to change your "position." I too am eagerly looking forward to taking my major pay cut. Would be nice to say ciao to my cube! What are your plans? Are you thinking about an FBO or a University to instruct?

Way to go...

Be possitive and start looking for a job...

Folks are hiring but you need to put yourself into the right spot at the right time and do the footwork....

I will work for who ever will give me a paycheck. I'm filling out paperwork at the college that I went through, might have my first student this weekend that is a part 61 guy. He is being given to me by my old instructor since he doesn't like to instruct on weekends. I dropped off about 5 resumes today at the schools in the area, and have more to do tomorrow. Also thinking about doing freelance with people who have their own airplanes. Just want to get a check finally.
I'm applying for some UPT slots with few guard units. 2 A-10 and a few viper units.

a little off topic, but what's the story behind the Eva 74 if you don't mind me asking?

jsfBoat 09-24-2009 01:52 PM

I have my first student on Saturday. Got my employment paperwork filled out and took a ride with the chief pilot for the college.
As far as the Eva 74, I was either coming or going from Amsterdam Shippol and had some time to kill before my connecting flight, so I did what I always do when I have time to ki, walk around and take photos. The Eva 74 was parked and was looking great in the morning light so I took a photo of it, got back home and saw that it was one of my better airplane photos at the time. I am an aspiring 747 driver for Cathay Pacific.

Congrats on passing your ride and always remember they're all trying to kill you they just don't realize it. Instructing will remind you you're never done learning and that complacency by yourself or your students will bend metal or worse. It is also very rewarding taking someone who can't hold it straight and level to the look the look on their face when the examiner gives them their temp.
