I am pretty sure Lisa and Belinda will be teaching the CRJ. I was just in town to work out some scheduling issues for next year. Heard that two of the Cirrus's had already been broken...Before they even left Duluth

From what I have heard the Phenom will be used for University lifts. The difference is that each student will fly the phenom for X amount of hours no matter if they are taking people places or just tooling around the west lala area.

Where would you like me to begin? Kinda kidding, but from talking with other instructors here, most would rather be doing primary training in a 172, saving the Cirrus for instrument and commercial.
It doesn't lend itself to bounced landings and flat landings very well.
It requires more finesse to fly than most students have, making for a lot of pilot induced turbulence.
Because of the added flying difficulty our curriculum had to change with students now soloing on lesson 22. It used to be 13.
It's price is more than double what the 172 was 4 years ago. (I'm not sure how this compares with general price increases)
In addition to this we are updating to the Entegra R9 system. So far (and the planes have only entered training for CFI candidates) we have discovered that the radio will block out reception if the source is too close. To test it an aircraft on final had tower count down from 20. They were unable to hear nearly half the transmission.
It also has a software glitch that renders the GPS unusable for IFR flight. They are hoping to have that patched by the beginning of May.
Despite all of these complaints I do love the Cirrus. It is a fun aircraft to fly and is great at doing what it is designed to do. Unfortunately being a trainer isn't it..
