How hard is it to get into ERAU?

THE Ohio State University has a great aviation program, and by far a better 'college' experience than Kent, Lewis, or UND. You have the grades to get in there. Purdue is really good too. Great football, tradition, people, facilities, etc. I would seriously avoid Riddle at all costs, unless you want to spend four years with all guys. Sure nice WX, and the beach, however, it is a dudefest, and you will quickly realize that there is MORE to life than flying, really, you will figure that out.
At any rate, choose whichever university best suits your needs, however, proceed with caution about the whole riddle plan. Riddle only means that you will be 'riddled' with debt when you graduate.
Another question to ask yourself, is 'how bad do you really want to fly as a career?' Plan on living like you are in college for at least another 4-6 years after graduation. Talk to career pilots, get feedback.

Let's see OSU and Purdue: chicks, bigtime college sports, chicks, not surrounded by dudes quoting Top Gun for 4 years, did I mention chicks?
Hell, you may even find a few that think being a pilot is cool... I'd suggest a normal college that offers an aviation option versus an aviation college, but what do I know.

My previous post about NOT going to ERAU was deleted... I don't know why.
Is that normal around this place?!
Either way, Others have posted most of the high lights that I agree with.
There was some good info and training at ERAU but more negatives than positives.
There are many places to get good flight training that are much cheaper, more fun, and less artificial than ERAU.

As someone else said, you seem to be smart, have good grades, etc. You may want to pursue a degree in engineering or the like, unless you really think your ADD will hinder it. I would at least start out with a different degree and see how it goes, you can always change degree programs.
If you plan on trying to play sports in college, a traditional liberal arts university would be choice as well.
Basically, I came to find out (the hard way) that my Aero Science degree from ERAU is useless (I got a math minor, in case I want to fall back on...say...being a math teacher.) I'm starting a Master's program in something different next semester.
Do more research, look at costs, look at quality of life, see what all is important to you and weigh your decision that way. Good luck, and most importantly, HAVE FUN!!!

Yes - it is standard around this place that your post will be deleted if you quote material in your post that is in violation of the TOS and/or not in good taste with trying to keep our forum professional. In the future - please be careful of what you may quote in your posts.

Why don't you visit the schools and see what they have to offer? Please don't make your decision based the opinions here! I graduated ERAU in 91 and earned 2 degrees there. I did not learn to fly there but received a BS in Management and an AS in Business. I flew at a 141 school on the field and it was much cheaper. Although the contacts I made there paved the way for my career which I probably would not have gotten at another college or university. An alum I met recommended me for a LR-35 job right out of school and after 3 years flying the Lear I was hired at FDX. The guy interviewing as well as my sponsor had nothing but good things to say about previous ERAU applicants and I actually have flown with numerous classmates since I upgraded to the left seat of the A300 5 years ago. Visit the schools and see what they have to offer! GOOD LUCK!
