C208 course

Hi

Can anyone recommend where to get a Cessna Caravan rating. I've seen the Turbine Training Centre, PanAm and Flight Safety. Anywhere else? The latter was quite pricey.

Thanks.

My understanding is not "rating" is required because it's under 12,500 lbs. and not a turbo fan. That being said, I'm sure there are places that have training programs for it that people do for insurance requirements and possibly part 135.

Some countries require a type in the C-208.

Frogone, I assume you've seen this site?
Caravan Pilots

Also, if you are looking for overseas options on training/flying, the PPRuNe website has some threads about initial C-208 training and operators.

Just go to the main page, http://www.pprune.org/ , and use the search function. You may have to create an account there to search the forums.

Are you looking for training or a type rating?

Do you need time in type?

If you are interested in the Flight Safety books, pm me.

Type rating first, I have an FAA ATP. Can you recommend anywhere?

Thanks

Well, since there is no FAA CE208 type rating, the FAA certificate doesn't matter. Australia will put it on your CASA license and some of the African countries will also do the rating on their license.

I have been through the Flight Safety training... it's pretty good and pretty pricey. I have read on another board that FS does the rating as well. http://www.pprune.org/biz-jets-ag-fl...pe-rating.html

I found an ad for this place Advanced Aviation: TRTO / Type Ratings
Located in Germany. Price is WAY high .... If I read it right, an IFR would run 13,000-15,000 Euros

This place says "Coming Soon" RENI Aviation Belgium

List of BCAA TRTOs (search for Cessna SET) http://www.mobilit.fgov.be/data/aero/lijstTRTO.pdf

And if you are bored, here is a quiz: http://burger.za.org/fly/C208Bquiz.pdf

Good luck

Thanks guys for the info. Flightsafety is pricey for what you're getting, kinda scuppers the idea I had in mind.

Thanks for the replies :)
