I'm not worried about one foot. As mentioned, altimeters can be off by more than the difference. Also, I've not seen a controller or radar system that could identify when a pilot is one foot off assigned altitude or a published altitude.
I don't think the concern is over the 1 foot difference. I think the alarming matter is that the two charts that many lives depend on don't agree. It may be an indication of a problem in the data collection that could cause greater differences in the future or maybe already has done so, but we haven’t found the charts yet.
