de727, I'm young (22), and have learned a lot from the braintrusts on this forum.

Don't quit giving us information, we need it the most.

I have an idea. I will be doing some multi time building here pretty quick. Tell you what. Give me $40,000 and I will let you sit in the right seat and watch me fly it, I will even give you some ground school and maybe even let you hold the yoke some. I will pay you double what Gulfstream Pays, so I am paying you better than most regionals pay 1st year salary. This will get you a good 300 hours of Multi time so you can go get a job somewhere.

See how stupid that sounds??????

Oh and by the way, I will gladly accept any takers on my stupid offer.

lol, you are absolutely right..I was also considering GSA but I've been told even by my instructors that it wasn't the right way to go, and that I was going to be stuck in a hole with thousands in debt and no job eventually when the contract was over. To all of you who have been in this business and called it "my life" I thank you for your comments and advice. I don't see myself doing anything else, I will rather die behin that cockpit than work anywhere else. Thank you for your wisdom.

On Another note Mr. ERJ, you mentioned that you were considering leaving ATP's program and taking the money to go somewhere else to do your instructor ratings. This is a bad idea. You only get 2k back and that accounts for a very intense couple of weeks of ground school that is well worth every penny. 7 days a week from 7am to 8pm. I learned more from this part of ground instruction than any other two weeks i spent in the program. You also of course get a few more seminole flights and a couple c172 flights. Request to do the CFI in Jacksonville which has the highest pass rate of any location for the initial. Your first week is done by Walt who has been instructing for over 40 years and can quote ANY FAR from memory. Never seen him not answer a question he was asked. I have not seen anyone say bad things about the ATP CFI school.

Thanks.

I am right now for the May class,

no extra fees, its a flat fee, nothing like an FBO or flying school, you can repeat the course if you need it... no extra hidden fees...

I came here because of the same reason u have. I did not want to be a CFI I have my own reasons!

send me a PM if you want to know anything else!

If I do end up becoming a flight instructor I don’t know if I want to stay with ATP all the way to the end(CFI Academy), or get as much money back and get it somewhere else. Mainly because I hear many places look down on atp CFI’s because of how quickly they got it done. I would like to fly the Embraer 145, so that’s what I chose as my username. I’m simply asking a very specific question; if you don’t have any useful information, don’t reply. It’s quite obvious that many people don’t like Gulfstream Academy, but if you don’t like it…why? How would that effect hiring chances with the airlines…

Thanks.
I understant your frustration about the deal with the things you have to deal with.... but its your money, you can go anywhere if you want to... I came here, just because its cheaper to build multi-engine/turbine time! I was flying a King air 90, but we never flew... so far training is good! the instructor who is doing OM-1 had his time with the airline! looking to jumpseat to the Bahamas over the weekend! free traveling... its nice! I like it! even though many people from here they don't....

Ironic how you Gulfstream PFT "student pilots" have no desire to instruct.

If every pilot had your mentality, than a career in aviation would never even be an option for you guys.

Just funny how the most uneducated and inexperienced pilots are usually the most arrogant ones as well.

Don't fool yourselves PFT'ers you all are the problem with this industry, to eager to get into the seat at a 121 airline as quickly and eagerly as possible.
