Looking for suggestions for learning to fly
Greetings,
My wife grew up always wanting to pilot a plane for recreation. She was a member of CAP as a kid and got far enough that she was ready for her first solo flight. Life happened and she never made that solo, and hasn't really done anything with it since. I know in her heart she would love to get back into it. Might anyone have some suggestions on how I could get her involved again? We live near Raleigh, NC. Thank you. |
Go to your nearest small airport and either ask around, or find or find the FBO which rents planes. If they rent planes, I'm sure they do instruction as well.

Find a local GA airport, ask about lessons, prices, etc, maybe have her do a demo flight and see if she is still interested. If so, ask the instructor about continuing her lessons, and go from there.
Damn...NoseUp beat me to it. But yeah, what he said! |

Check out Flight Training: Flight Training for some good information. They also have a link to get a free flight training magazine for 6 months. It's pretty good information.
The main rule: Do plenty of research before you start plunking down money to fly. AOPA is a good place to start. |
