I attended ALLATPS as a student years ago and I took my ATP written at the New York location a while back. Nice staff and very professional. They offer a fixed price for all their programs and the airline training program is the best if you want to become an airline pilot. Ask any airline pilot which flight school to go to, they'll tell you ATP is the way to go. If you don't want to become an airline pilot, go to another flight school so you can take your time and earn your pilot certifcates over a few years unlike ATP which is a few months.

I used exam4pilots.org to prep for the written and I also bought a Jeppesen study guide for the written. Go through the Jeppesen book and work all the problems. The written test is pretty much the same as the questions in the work book. Make notecards on everything and study. Go to exam4pilots.org and take the free practice test as many times as you can before you go in and take the real written test. When you get over 90 more than a few times in a row, you can pretty much bet you are ready.

I used King School's for all my knowledge test. Worth the $279 bucks and prints your endorsement at the end of several practice exams. On a side note ATP doesnt guarantee everyone a job anymore. It is only open to ACPP students as of Feb time frame and it is very selective. They hired 9 several months ago and that was the last wave. Most of the instructors I met at Jax have been there for several years.

DALFA- I started this week. Let me tell you my instructor is top notch. He does ground school (and the company now REQUIRES it as per the book you'll get the first day. They have a ACPP single engine track now only at Jax for now and it is about 20K cheaper. They do all your instrument, commercial, CFI, and CFII. You will than get a job as an instructor and after so many hours the company will pay for all your multi stuff. I know the majority of the people at Jax are doing that program as they are still experimenting with it. They are also booked out for a while. Overall I haven't found one thing I don't like about it. Your instructor will give you homework every night and as long as you do what they ask you won't have problems. Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Oh and for those that keep bashing ATP's instructors I challenge you to pass their standardization. I got to see first hand what the Chief puts these guys through and he doesn't play around. They're a bunch trying to get jobs now and they will probably only pick up a few.

My buddy started his CFI with Jax ATP yesterday... said his instructor was 18, and probably one of the best instructors he's ever had. Did 3 hours of ground, covered every topic in depth, and kept it interesting the whole time.

This praise after the first lesson or has your buddy been working with this CFI for some time? Not that a young CFI can't be great, just quite the endorsement after a single exposure!

USMCFLYR- They have really cleaned up their act. Just in the past two days I have physically had to teach my instructor about multi engine performance and aerodynamics. He has given multiple classes on multi engine flying and makes me teach him everyday. Just today I have had to teach two classes on multi engine flying and critical engines. He wants to make sure that I can one teach him for when I become an instructor and two understand the material. Again I have personally seen new CFI's go through their standardization. Some of them got told to go home and the CP doesn't play around. He may be tougher on his IP checks than most examiners on a CFI check ride. I have been nothing but thoroughly impressed thus far. Are there things I don't like absolutely but most of the instructors at the JAX location (again the CP is there all the time) truly go above and beyond.
