Tell you what.. if you can help me find a free, or cheap, $500,000... I'd be happy to give you free flight training, once I finish my CFI!

Find a flying club with a CFII

Northwest Flying Clubs

Clubs are structured in different ways as far as money goes. You'll just have to find one that fits your situation, but they should be cheaper than renting or owning.

ARE YOU FOR REAL?

Since you're in Seattle, maybe you could try visiting the Boeing factory and asking them to teach you how to fly their 747's.

jfnjorge2004,

Your options are going to be limited but here are some suggestions (links) you may find helpful:

Military/Guard:

Navy: Aviation : Careers & Jobs: Navy.com

USAF: United States Air Force - AirForce.com

Army: Becoming an Army Helicopter Pilot

Coast Guard: Become A Coast Guard Pilot

Civil Air Patrol: Seattle Composite Squadron - Home

Whidbey Island Navy Flying Club: Whidbey Island Navy Flying Club

You may also want to search for potential grants and/or scholarship funds available at various academic institutions and flight schools throughout the state (or nation).

Looking for Information about Federal Grants or Scholarship for Your Education?

I would also recommend you thoroughly search the internet and try and establish a dialogue/network with pilots who have been able to successfully achieve the same outcome you desire.

Best of luck in your search.

jfn, dude, I hope you are willing to not get paid for your piloting services then. Thanks for cheapening the industry. But it's all glamour, right?

Oh, and yeah CAP ain't an FBO. Quit wasting my tax dollars.

Nothing good in life is cheap or free. If you want to get into flying for little or no cost prepare to sell your soul and suffer a life of indentured servitude.

Even the freedom that we all enjoy as Americans is not free. Think about that.
