Airlines have changing thier tune on HR3371
#11
The real problem is that there are not enough pilots out there that are willing to put their jobs (and potentially their careers) on the line in an effort to stand up and say, "SCREW YOU! We aren't gonna work under these bull**** conditions for such bull**** pay and until you are willing to pay us better and treat us like the professionals that we are, find someone else to fly your airplanes!!!!" The underlying problem is that IF you decided to be a person of true moral value to the pilot community and actually carryout the above actions, the airline community will always be able to draw out 6 or 7 low time guys who will be willing to do your job for 1/2 your pay.
The military is NOT in business to MAKE MONEY!
I am not saying this is a good thing but honestly, it's the pilot community's fault! The invisible hand of our consent to jobs with conditions of this nature is the very same invisible hand the continuously pushes against us in our push for better pay, QOL, conditions etc. Nobody is forcing pilots at gunpoint to work under these conditions. FREE market = FREE to come and go as you please. Because pilots continue to accept (ie. 'demand' in terms of economics) jobs like this, the situation will never get better (for the pilots).
