First Job!!
 

I am proud to say that I was just offered my first flying job! I will be an instructor (CFI/CFII/MEI) out of Waukesha, WI. I am really excited to begin that next phase of my flying career, and look forward to contributing to the community more!

Hey that's great, raise a toast! Now you can come on here and answer flight training questions since you are in the fire of flight instruction every day at the top of your game. Good job getting hired in this economy- you must have beat a ton of good CFIs to get a solid job like that.

I'm not going to promise that I can answer all questions about aviation:confused:; but I am willing to study hard for the upcoming lessons and learn from my mentors. I landed this job because of a very strong positive attitude towards aviation and am excited to be a part of the professional aviation crowd even more. If anyone is ever landing at KUES, just let me know.

You'll probably learn more about teaching, flying, decision making, in that first 200 dual given than you have since your private. It truly will be a challenge but all aviation professionals will step up to the challenge with the fire that got all of us into this mess in the beginning. enjoy, relish that first job I remember that feeling thinking "they actually trust me with this plane and teach this person how to fly this thing?"

Best of luck and never, ever be afraid to ask a more senior instructor for advice about a student, because odds are they've seen it before.

Congrats and enjoy the process and experience! The only thing better is your first day at the airline of your choice.

There are too many naysayers around here (sometimes me unfortunately, as a 2x UAL furloughee). I remember my first CFI job like it was yesterday. Don't lose your enthusiasm or thirst to grow as a professional.

Congrats lifter! Welcome to the world of instructing, like it was said before, there is a lot of learning that you'll be doing. I only have about 80 hours of dual given, but everyday I instruct I learn something new. Sometimes it may not have to do with flying at all, it helps to shape you as a person. It'll be enjoyable. Be sure to make a copy of your first pay check. Mine is next to my shirt tail, the two biggest days so far in my aviation career. There are scary moments, remember a students sole purpose in an airplane is to try to kill you, but when you watch them progress and make that first solo, it's a rewarding experience.

Congrats, and I'm with KC135, it's an experience that you can take a lot more from it than you'll realize.

The bad part is you're starting out at the onset of winter in the Midwest. The weather will be frustrating, but it's just part of life. Really push to get your students up on the good days to make up for the bad ones.
